An Internationally Diverse Frame of Reference
Lamar is a fine art photographer from the Mosel region of Germany, working in abstraction found through exploration.
Fifteen years of capturing light while exploring the world has evolved into two primary visual languages, each with its own impressions and collections.
The first, created entirely in-camera and unedited, navigates the dimension of time from within, looking outward — a still medium carrying not what was seen, but what was felt and remembered in a span of time.
In contrast, Lamar's expeditions lead to discoveries of abstraction within the natural world — texture, contrast and form isolated to stand on their own within a frame, where nature's own composition becomes the subject.
A pilot, sailor, scuba diver and trekker, Lamar has captured impressions across continents — above the clouds, on open water, beneath the waves, and across cityscapes and mountain terrain.
His work hangs in collections worldwide, where a fragment of the viewer remains within his composition, bound in the dimensions shaped by his lens.
